When you search in your own browser you're getting heavily personalized results: your location, your search history, whether you've clicked your own site a hundred times, and any logged-in signals all nudge you up. Position 4 for you is not position 4 for a neutral searcher.
The rank tracker pulls a de-personalized result for the location and device you configured, which is the number that actually reflects your market visibility. If anything, set the tracker's location to match your target audience precisely — for local intent that matters a lot. The gap you're seeing (4 vs 8) is normal personalization inflation. The 8 is the truth.
